Unending love (part 2)

The year went by smoothly enough. It was exam time... as usual Veena and Vivek were busy preparing for their exams and as usual they used to chat everyday in their dreams and motivate each other to bring in the best in them. It was the time when everyone was busy doing the final revisions and gearing up for the preliminary examinations. Vivek was ready too. he was going through the last chapter in Biology when suddenly one his room-mates came in and told him that he had a call from his home. He immediately went and picked the phone... it was his dad, something was seriously wrong. He forgot about his exams, he forgot about his dream, he forgot about everything, he just rushed home. The journey was terrible for him, all the wrong ideas kept creeping in. He just wished they were not true.
Vivek reached home. not finding peace he straight went to his mom. As soon as his mom saw him she burst into tears. Vivek was now really very confused. Within minutes his father took him to the hospital. He was now deeply praying. there inside the I.C.U was his sister, his sister was lying lifeless, her face was pale and she was not conscious. Vivek went inside. He sat besides her and she opened her eyes slowly, saw him, smiled faintly and then She slept again.
Vivek went nowhere, he slept besides her that day. The next morning Veena woke up and saw Vivek sleeping besides her. she woke him up and like the sun brings life to earth, the arrival of Vivek had brought her back to life. She talked her heart out to him, she had cancer.
They chatted for what seemed like seconds but the whole day passed by and she told him everything, everything why she didn't give her exams, why she sent her to a hostel away from her, away from her illness. they both cried but Vivek understood, he understood the pain, her dream and her passion. He knew how much she wanted him to be a doctor. He had to give exams, the exams were due in two weeks. Veena knew how important the exams for to both of them and she knew she might not survive, but her brother was there, there to give her the hope she needed, he went back the next day.
they talked to each other every night, the doctors were surprised how she was fighting the deadly disease which was killing her from the inside, it was no more than a miracle, but she was holding on, for her brother, so that he gives his exams, so that he fulfills their dreams, their parents dreams. Every night Vivek told her to hold on, only a few days were left for his exams to finish, then he would be back, back with her and nothing would ever go wrong. She was brave and dtermined to hold on, she knew it was not far away, she endured pain day and night but she didn't let go.
the next day, after his exam he came back to his hostel, he got a phone from one of Veena's friends. it was short, she said" Are you her brother? the brother she loves so much? then why are you giving her so much pain? why are you making her suffer so much? each day is like death for her, please don' do this."
That night before he slept, he knew what to do, he slept early, he told his sister,
My dear sister, i never thought about your pain, i was so selfish, i thought only about myself, i am sorry. i promise you i will become a doctor, believe me i will not let us down. now please sleep peacefully.
Next morning he recieved a call from his father, his sister died, but she had a content smile on her face.

Unending love (part 1)

Dreams are seen so that they some day may become true and so that when you realise them you sit back and look at life and are proud of the way you have lived it. Vivek was the guy who lived for his dreams and who knew what it was to achieve a certain level of respect in the society. He wanted to go to the top, to the highest level of sane education and make the world realise that he was the best, he wanted to make his parents proud. he loved his parents and his elder sister too.
Vivek's elder sister Veena was the best sibling you would ever like to have. She was the smartest, the most talented and a treasure of inspiration. Being one year elder was good in its own ways. the brother and sister unlike others loved each other dearly and there was a different sort of understanding between them. they knew each other's secrets and they always shared everything, yes everything even their dreams. Veena too at one time wanted to be a doctor but she missed out at the last moments of the examination but was still brave enough to accept the fact that she had lost on one year.
Vivek was smart, well-behaved, a go-getter and an allrounder and the girls always fell for him. he had the best of everything and so was his girlfriend. Veena was a little worried about her little brother. they shared an unbreakable bond between them something that even the sciences wouldn't be able to explain, something that when it comes you know its the work of God. Veena wanted that Vivek should concentrate more on studies for the time-being and so she managed to convince her parents to send him to a hostel. Although against his wishes Vivek decided to go. Veena was happy that her brother had accepted her decision but from the inside she was also unhappy to be separated from her brother. Vivek knew it was his crucial year and so he decided to give his full devotion to his studies.
Such was their love that every night the brother and sister used to talk to each other and share their thoughts. they always knew when and where they needed each other. The sister was busy preparing again for her exams and so was the brother.Vivek was always intelligent enough to understand his sister but somehere down the line he never knew that although his sister was determined to become a doctor why she didn't give the exams..
